NEBRASKA TELEPHONE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FORMERLY CALLED LIFELINE

Nebraska Telephone Assistance Program (NTAP) Help is available for Nebraskans who need assistance paying for local telephone service. American Broadband participates in a program that helps Nebraskans have access to this necessity. This program is the Nebraska Telephone Assistance Program (NTAP). Customers who participate in one of the following programs may qualify: Medicaid, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or Federal Housing Assistance. Applications are available by contacting the Nebraska Public Service Commission at 800.526.0017 or www.psc.nebraska.gov . NTAP (formerly called the Lifeline program) provides eligible customers with credit each month for basic telephone service. The credit applies to the main telephone line listed in the name of the eligible customer.

This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all calls are confidential and free to the calling party. United Way of the Midlands manages the program in Nebraska. Diggers Hotline . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 811 A call to 811 connects the caller with the Nebraska One-Call Notification System whereby the caller can request the location of underground facilities. Nebraska law requires that everyone planning to excavate (or otherwise disturb the ground) must first call the state one-call notification center at least two business days, but not more than 10 days, before the work is scheduled to start. Except in emergencies, locate requests made after 6:00 p.m. Central Time, or on weekends and holidays, will not be dispatched until 7:00 a.m. the next business day. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is a free call.
