Use a strand of uncooked spaghetti to test a cake for doneness when a toothpick isn’t long enough, or if you don’t have any toothpicks in the house.

To remove candle wax from carpeting...after the wax has hardened, scrape up what you can with a dull knife. Place a paper towel or clean white cloth over the affected area. Gently press the cloth with an iron on low (warm). As wax is lifted, move the cloth to a clean area and repeat as often as necessary.

To clean your microwave oven... put a wet dishcloth in the center of the oven. Turn the oven on high and “cook” for 30 to 40 seconds. The steam created will help loosen any hardened spills. Use the heated cloth to finish the job. Careful...it will be hot.
