WARNING: Laws of Florida provide that (1) Whoever by telephone makes or knowingly permits another to make over a telephone under their control any comment, request, suggestion or proposal which is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy or indecent, or a telephone call whether or not conversation ensues without disclosing their identity and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any person at the called number, or makes repeated telephone calls during which conversation ensues solely to harass any person that the called number shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as prescribed by law. (2) Any person who willfully refuses to immediately relinquish a party line when informed that such line is needed for an emergency call and in fact such line is needed for an emergency call to a fire department or for medical aid or ambulance service, or any person who shall secure the use of a party line by falsely stating that such line is needed for an emergency call shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as prescribed by law. Emergency means a situation in which property or human life is in jeopardy and the prompt summoning of aid is essential.
