Oakhurst Community Center The Center located at 39800 Road 425B provides a community meeting place for Oakhurst and the surrounding mountain area. It is beautifully landscaped, with expansive lawn areas and an outdoor stage. There are two halls, each with kitchen and restroom facilities. The Main Hall has a hardwood floor, large stage area, an excellent sound system, and will accommodate a maximum of 300 persons (250 for dining). A small adjacent meeting room accommodates up to 40 persons. The Pavilion Hall will hold up to 187 persons for assembly or 100 for dining. Square Dance clubs meet regularly at the Center along with The Mountain Community Women, Weight Watchers and various other organizations. The Oakhurst Community Advisory Council meets regularly on the last Thursday of the month. In addition to regularly scheduled activities, the Center is used for Weddings and Receptions, Anniversaries, Birthdays and special events. The hall is available for rent from the non-profit Oakhurst Community Center, Inc., and may be reserved by calling 559-683-2290 . Sierra Senior Center The Sierra Senior Center is located at 49111 Cinder Lane, just behind the Oakhurst Community Center and Sierra Mountain Little League Field. The center is a non-profit public benefit corporation intended to

the facility for their service on Sundays. The Sierra Senior Center has a full kitchen, main hall, library/computer room, large conference room, and restrooms. For recreation, there is an outdoor picnic area and horseshoe pit. The center is also available for your events. Additional information: Bingo meets every Thursday and the first and second Saturday of each month at 12:00pm. Bread Giveaway is every Thursday at 11:00am. Bridge meets every Wednesday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Calvary Baptist Church meets every Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Exercise meets every Thursday at 9:00am. General Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month. Respite meets every Tuesday from 9:30am to 1:30pm. Woodcarvers meet every Thursday at 12:30pm. Coarsegold Historical Society’s Coarsegold Historic Museum The Coarsegold Historic Museum, 31899 Highway 41, south of the town of Coarsegold and just south of Lucky Lane, is the setting of a rock and mud adobe house dating back to the late 1800’s, used then as a horse- drawn freight way station. An old wooden addition to the adobe has been restored and includes a room of military memorabilia and uniforms (from Vintage Museum), a turn-of the-century bedroom setting, a room dedicated to local pack-station-operator Johnny Jones and a maps and historical items section. The adobe is listed on the California Register of Historical Resources. Before paving the new road in the 1930’s, the old highway was just east of Highway 41 and went in front of this house. On the museum property is the one-room Picayune Schoolhouse, a local Historical Landmark that is on the California Register of Historical Resources. Built in 1913 and actively used until 1956, it was moved

Monday thru Friday, the center offers a daily continental buffet breakfast along with daily lunches through Fresno-Madera Area by the Agency on Aging. General Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 11:00am.
