900-Number Blocking Residences and businesses can request 900 Call Blocking Service to prevent anyone from directly dialing 900 calls from their telephones. Residences can subscribe to this service at no monthly charge. Use of Residence Telephones For Business Purposes
Customer-Provided Equipment Customer-provided equipment is any equip- ment, apparatus, device, or system owned by the customer. Equipment provided by a customer may be used with Shenandoah
Your local telephone service may not be dis- connected for non-payment of long distance charges. Customers may lose access to long distance carriers or companies whom they owe, and can be charged collection fees and interest on unpaid amounts. If you pay only part of your bill, the amount you pay will first be applied to regulated service charges. Any remaining balance will be credited to non-regulated service charges. Your telephone service may be suspended or terminated for: • Failure to comply with deposit or guaran- tee arrangements when required; • Failure to remove or disconnect unautho- rized attachments or connections attached to Shenandoah Telephone Company’s facilities after being given written notice; • Abuse or misuse of telephone service when calls are made in a manner which is profane, obscene or frightening after being furnished written notice; • Impairment of telephone service of others through the misuse of service after being furnished written notice; • Abandonment of telephone service with- out notice to Shenandoah Telephone Company; or • Tampering with Shenandoah Telephone Company’s equipment or bypassing same. Restoring Disconnected Service Due To Nonpayment
Telephone Company’s facilities if such use complies with the Company’s tariff. The tariff is designed in the interest of good tele- phone service and to prevent hazards to cus- tomers and Company employees.
Residence telephones are installed with the understanding that they will be used for normal social or domestic purposes.
Any items used with the Company’s facilities and equipment in violation of the Company’s tariff may lead to the removal of the equip- ment, apparatus, device, or system, or in the suspension of the customer’s telephone service. A maintenance visit charge applies per visit to a customer’s premises where a service trouble is caused by customer-pro- vided equipment. Minimum Service Period The minimum contract period for regular telephone service is six months. If the cus- tomer requests disconnection of service before the six-month period is complete, the customer will be charged for six months’ service.
A residential telephone will be changed to busi- ness service if used primarily or substantially for business purposes. A residential telephone will be changed to business if the residence telephone number is advertised in connection with the sale of products or services and the subscriber has no business service elsewhere without this telephone system. Types Of Telephone Service Premium Service allows you to make as many calls as you wish within the local call- ing area for a fixed monthly rate. Economy Service is a measured service based on minutes of usage. The monthly basic rate includes an allowance in dollars for calls made within the same exchange or to local extended areas. Additional usage beyond this allowance is priced on a per minute basis. Budget Service is for the customer who makes few calls each month. This service is furnished at a low basic rate. With this service customers are allowed to make a fixed number of originating calls per month. Additional calls are priced on a per call basis. Lease Your Telephone
The minimum contract period for temporary ser- vice is one month. If the customer submits a request for disconnection of service before one month is com- plete, the customer will be

If not restored within two weeks after tempo- rary denial for nonpayment, the service may be terminated without further notice. Toll Control Toll control provides you with the ability to restrict toll calls from being made from your line unless you first enter an authorization code.
