Wilkie Retires from Prairie Grove Senior Activity and Wellness Center

Linda Wilkie, holding the cake, had a reception in her honor Friday in celebration of her retirement from Prairie Grove Senior Activity and Wellness Center. She’s been site director for 12 years.

Garden Club Farmington Mayor Ernie Penn proclaimed June 20, 2021 as Farmington Garden Club Day in recognition of the Club’s volunteer efforts to beau- tify the city. The club maintains two flower garden spots at Creekside Park, including the Butterfly Garden in the background, and also helps with outside flower pots at Folsom and Williams Elementary Schools. Club members use “their gifts of time, talent and commitment” for the community and continue to “set an example for all in how volunteerism leads to the betterment of our city,” the proclamation says. Anyone is welcome to join the club at its meetings and with its projects.

Tyler Franks A long line of law enforcement vehicles fromacross Northwest Arkansas makes its way through Prairie Grove during a parade to welcome home Tyler Franks, an officer with the Prairie Grove Police Department, who was shot May 4, while responding to a domestic disturbance.
