Oakhurst Oakhurst is a bustling community filled with charming shops, art galleries, great restaurants, antiques, and fun places to browse on Highway 41. Located in Southern Yosemite, Oakhurst dates back to the 1850s and offers plenty of historical sites, most notably the Little Church on the Hill. Volunteers joined together to build the church in 1892. It became the area’s only house of worship for nearly a half century, and it remained in use until 1954. The church was moved to the Oakhill Cemetery in 1957. It was fully restored in 1994 and is now a designated California Point of Historical Interest. Other sites of interest include the Talking Bear landmark, Oakhurst Community Park, the Oakhurst River Parkway, and Fresno Flats Historical Park.

Fresno Flats Historical Park This recreated old historic town is located near downtown Oakhurst and is open for self-guided tours or guided tours. The park contains several historic buildings and a collection of antique wagons. 559-683 6570 Web: http://fresnoflatsmuseum.org Oakhurst Community Park This park is perfect for a picnic or large gathering. The Oakhurst River Parkway is a meandering hiking trail that begins at the park and runs along the Fresno River and Oak Creek. The trail offers the chance to see wildlife such as ducks, beavers, birds and more as you enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery. The Talking Bear Landmark The bear’s message gives a brief history of the extinct California grizzly and promotes respect for forests and wildlife. Located in the center of Oakhurst on Hwy 41 and Road 426.
