Mailing address: P.O. Box 414, Prather, CA 93651 The Ponderosa Lions continually supports both local and international sight and hearing programs with the funds generated by the above events. Programs e.g., eyeglasses for under privileged school children, Guide Dogs for the Blind and an eyeglass recycling program. Most of the funds generated by the Club are devoted to local community needs, e.g., Sierra High scholarships, eyeglasses, Salvation Army, youth soccer, burnout victims, Hinds Hospice, hunter safety, and our sponsored school events. We enjoy serving the community and we are always looking for caring men and women that are also interested in making a difference in their community. Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) is a national voluntary non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that those who are emotionally traumatized in emergency situations receive the assistance they need. TIP Inc. works closely with local communities to establish emergency services volunteer programs to assist family members, witnesses, and other bystanders whom the emergency system often must leave behind. Following a traumatic event, the person involved often feels helpless, confused, and in emotional shock. Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and others.

The Foothill Mountain Chapter was founded in January of 1995, serving the communities in the foothills and mountains northeast of Fresno. Area of service includes Auberry, Friant, Tollhouse, Rural Clovis, Shaver Lake and higher elevations. TIP volunteers are citizens of all ages and occupations who have a deep desire to help others. Many of the volunteers have been through a traumatic experience themselves and realize the importance of immediate support from a caring and knowledgeable person. TIP Inc. is a non-profit tax exempt organization. Services are provided to victims and their families free of charge and are made possible through grants from local government and individuals and through fund-raising efforts. Continuing Education meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at the Sierra Oaks Senior Center located at 33276 Lodge Rd., Tollhouse, CA. • Website: www.tipfoothill.org • Office Number: 559-279-9674 • Executive Director: Yolanda Akers 559-905-4785 • Email: yolanda@tipfoothill.org
