3. Local service deposit requirements will be waived for customers who voluntarily receive Toll Blocking Service or Toll Control Service. 4. Participants in Lifeline Assistance shall not be disconnected from local service for non-payment of toll charges. In addition, PSC will not deny re-establishment of local service to cus- tomers who are eligible for Lifeline Assistance and have pre- viously been disconnected for non-payment of toll charges. 5. Partial payments that are received from Lifeline custom- ers will first be applied to local service charges and then to any outstanding toll charges. Lifeline Assistance reduces an eligible customer’s monthly Federal Subscriber Line Charge (FSLC) and rates for local service. An eligible customer receives a $5.25 credit for the FSLC and $9.25 credit for internet service with a speed greater than 20/3. Dial 711 to access Relay Indiana. This service relays calls between a person using a text tele- phone (TTY/TDD) and users of the general telephone network in the State of Indiana. Specially trained personnel are avail- able 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to relay a call. There is no extra charge for this service. Long distance calls placed through Relay Indiana to destinations within the US will be billed at the discounted rates. Low-Income Programs
Lifeline Assistance Lifeline Assistance reduces an eligible customer’s monthly rate for voice telephone service. 1. Lifeline Assistance is available to all residential customers who meet the following eligibility requirements: a. If someone in your household participates in one of these federal programs, you may be eligible for a Lifeline Program benefit: • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps; • Medicaid; • Supplemental Security Income (SSI); • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) or Section 8; • Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit; or • Tribal Programs (and liveon federally-recognized Tribal lands). b.In addition, a consumer may be eligible if his or her household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. 2. As a participant in Lifeline Assistance, currently custom- ers are eligible to receive Toll Blocking Service or Toll Control Service, as described in their Indiana Serving Tariff, at no charge. These services will only be provided at the customer’s request.
