Testing Customer-Owned Equipment

3. Strip cable jacket back 1-3/4 inches. Remove 3/8 inch of insulation from individual wires. Pass wire between legs of hinge. 4. Loosen four screws – DO NOT REMOVE. Match wire to color coded screws. Loop wire clock- wise between washers. Tighten screws securely. ALTERNATE WIRE COLORS: Blue/White to Red Blue to Green Orange to Yellow Orange/White to Black 5. Route wires neatly. Close net- work interface cover; press until cover clicks closed. Testing: Open cover and plug a working tele- phone into jack. Normal operation shows telephone line is working properly. If phone does not operate, close cover and notify repair service. Customer Lock: A #10 Master padlock, or equivalent, may be installed on the network interface for security.

Caution: To avoid electrical shock hazard when servicing telephone wiring, open cover of network interface to break electrical connection to wiring. Terminal Access: Locate proper network interface and open cover by depressing latch as shown. Open cover fully. Wiring: 1. Use a sharp pencil to puncture a small hole through the center of the grommet located in the bottom right of the housing. 2. Pull wire through hole in grommet. Route wire to proper network interface.
