We are you!! Rock Port Telephone Company is a cooperative — owned by you, the subscriber. Each customer is entitled to buy one share of stock in the company and may hold that stock as long as they have service. Each shareholder may be entitled to patronage credits. Rock Port Telephone Company was formed because the subscribers of Rock Port Mutual Telephone Company wanted to modernize their system and install dial telephones. They were incorporated in 1965, which enabled them to obtain a loan from the Rural Electric Administration (REA) to install new central office equipment. We were the first REA borrower in Missouri to give our customers a private line. And we remain on the “cutting edge,” striving to give our customers the most modern service available. Thanks to excellent management, devoted employees, and prudent investments by the Board of Directors, we have been able to keep our company one of the leaders in this industry. …All for you, the Owner!!!
