Cities across Alabama have much to offer for travelers or anyone looking for a great place to live. Huntsville is where America’s space program was born, and it is a center of culture for the state with its many museums, including the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Dr. Ma in Luther King Jr. delivered a mov- ing speech from the steps of Montgomery’s Capitol building at the conclusion of the Selma-to-Montgomery civil rights march. On the southern coast is Orange Beach, where the sand is sugar white and visitors enjoy many other a ractions like Adventure Island, deep-sea fishing, Orange Beach Golf Center, Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Waterville USA and The Wha . Alabamians even have their own island, a barrier island located 3 miles south of the mouth of Mobile Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. Dauphin Island is known for great bird-watching and a relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere.
