Help With Basic Phone Service Basic and enhanced telecommunication services are offered to all consumers in the Marseilles Telephone Company service territory at the rates, terms and conditions specified in company price lists. Eligible low-income households can receive financial assistance with telephone installation and basic local telephone service. The Illinois Universal Telephone Service Assistance Program (UTSAP) offers a one-time discount of $16.00 off the cost of telephone installation. The Federal Lifeline Program provides a $5.25 monthly discount on basic telephone service or a $9.25 monthly discount on broadband Internet service. If you have any questions regarding our services or these specified telephone/Internet assistance programs, please contact the Marseilles Telephone Company at 800-227-5161 or visit our business office at 244 Lincoln Street in Marseilles, Illinois. To qualify for assistance, households must participate in one of the following governmental programs: Public Housing Assistance (FPHA Section 8), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, or Veterans Pension and Survivor Benefit or have a household income at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines.
