CALLER ID - NAME & NUMBER DELIVERY

CUSTOMER ORIGINATED TRACE Identify harassing callers by dialing a simple code to trace the call through the telephone company records. 1. When you receive a nuisance call, press and release the switchhook. Listen for a special tone. 2. If you’ve already hung up, lift the handset and listen for dial tone. 3. Press “ ★ 57” (rotary phones, dial “1157”). 4. Listen for the announcement, confirming a successful trace. 5. Hang up. 6. The number traced will be recorded at the phone company. If you decide to follow up on the matter, we can provide the number to the local authorities. SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE Decide which calls you will accept. Others will hear an announcement that you’re not receiving calls at this time. To turn on the service: 1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. 2. Press “ ★ 64” (rotary phones, dial “1164”). 3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently ON or OFF and how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your acceptance list. 4. Follow the voice instructions and dial “3” to turn the feature ON or OFF. To add the last caller to your acceptance list: 1. Press “#01#” (rotary phones, dial “1201”). To hear the phone numbers on your list: 1. Dial “1” then listen to the voice instructions which follow. To add a number to your list: 1. Press “#” (rotary phones, dial “12”). 2. Follow the voice instructions, storing up to 31 numbers. To remove a number from your list: 1. Press “ ★ ” (rotary phones, dial “11”). 2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all numbers. To hear the instructions again: 1. Dial “0”.

When you receive a call, the name & number of the person calling is shown on your Caller ID display screen. 1. When you receive a call, wait until after the first ring. 2. The telephone number of the caller and the name associated with that number will appear on your screen. 3. If you choose to answer the call, the name and number will remain until you or the caller hangs up. 4. If “P” or “Private” appears on the screen, the caller may have blocked the display (“ ★ 67”) before placing the call. You can choose whether or not to answer the call. 5. If “unknown” or “out of area” appears, the caller is in an area that does not support Calling Number services. CALLER ID ON CALL WAITING When you’re on the phone, a special tone alerts you to a waiting call. The name and number of the person calling is shown on your Caller ID on Call Waiting display screen.* 1. After you hear the call waiting tone, the name and number of the waiting party appears on your display unit.* 2. If you choose to answer the second call, press and release the switchhook to place the first caller on hold. 3. To return to the first call, press and release the switchhook again. You can alternate between the calls. To end either call: 1. Hang up, and your phone will ring. 2. When you answer, you’ll be connected with the remaining caller. *NOTE: Your Caller ID unit must be “Call Waiting” compatible in order for this feature to properly work.
