GRM Networks ® Internet Go to www.grm.net/internet for details on Internet speeds and packages offered. Service availability and Internet speed will depend on location. A $3.95 monthly Modem Fee will be added to all Internet accounts. Advertised speed reflects highest achievable outcome. Individual results may vary. Modem Fee: All Internet customers are required to pay a monthly $3.95 Modem Fee which will cover the replacement cost of the modem as well as labor, trip charge, and materials used during a service call. The Modem Fee will not be applicable if hardware has been subjected to physical abuse or used with defective or non-compatible equipment, or where damage occurs due to acts of God, or other causes beyond GRM’s control, including but not limited to lightning or other forms of power fluctuations. In no event shall provider be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any defect in the hardware even if provider has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In the event of Internet connection issues, all customers will be required to call the 24/7 technical support line for assistance before a technician will be dispatched on a service call. All service calls will be performed during normal business hours.
Computer Maintenance Recommendations Computer Updates: Keep current on updates in order to have the latest protection available for your computer’s operating system. Anti-Virus Program: Used to protect your computer from viruses, worms and Trojan horses which often delete files, access personal information and try to infect other computers. Update and scan on a regular basis. Anti-Spyware Program: • Spyware is a general term for programs that collect information from your computer, advertise or change computer settings, usually without your consent. • Anti-spyware programs detect and remove spyware. • Only download anti-spyware programs from sites you trust. Be cautious about programs offered through pop-ups and emails. Firewall: A firewall makes your computer invisible on the Internet and blocks most communications from unauthorized sources. Install and maintain software for a firewall. Troubleshooting The following can help determine why your router may not be working properly: • Powercycle the router by unplugging the power source, waiting 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in. • Check that the ethernet cord is plugged securely into the WAN or Internet port on the back of the router. • Check that the ethernet cord running from your computer is plugged securely into one of the four LAN ports on the back of the router.
