Long Distance Rate Discount & Application Periods Within Fidelity’s service area, direct dial rates vary depending on what time of day you make your call. Fidelity’s service area includes the 314, 573 & 636 area codes except for Jefferson City, Columbia and surrounding communities. A portion of the 618 area code is also included in the Fidelity service area. The evening rate period is extended from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Calling Card Service • From touch-tone phones, dial 0 + Area Code + Phone Number (wait for tone or tone and announcement) + Calling Card Number. • From rotary phones, dial 0 + Area Code + Phone Number (give Operator your calling card number). Now you have many choices when it comes to selecting a long distance company. Here’s what to look for when you’re selecting your long distance company. • What are the company’s rates? When are special rate periods, if any? • Does the company offer 24-hour-a-day service? • Where can you call to and from? Anywhere or just selected cities in the country? • Can you make international calls? • How does the company charge for the calls? By blocks of time? By the minute or portion of a minute? • When does the company begin charging for the call? When it is answered or when it starts ringing? • Does the company offer access to long distance Directory Assistance? • Can you make collect or credit card calls? • Do you get credit for bad connections or wrong numbers? • How are you billed? Are charges itemized? Can you be billed through credit card accounts? • Are there any monthly fees? Any initial charges? Is there a minimum charge?
