800/888/877/866/855/844 Service Station-to-station long distance calls may be made, without charge to you, to customers who have Inward Wide Area Telephone Service. Dial “1” + the area code (800/888/877/ 866/855/844) + the special WATS number of the customer having this service. There is a special Directory Assistance bureau for WATS numbers: 1-800-555-1212. Time & Charges You may place calls and ask the operator to call you back and tell you the amount of time and the charge for the call. These calls require assistance from an operator. Calling Card (or Credit Card) If you have a phone calling card, you can have long distance calls charged to your regular monthly phone bill. Follow the directions on the reverse side of your calling card. If your calling card is lost or stolen, please call your long distance carrier. Direct Distance Dialing Use direct dial if you wish to talk with anyone who answers. Rates for calls that you dial yourself are lower than operator assisted calls. Charging begins when the called number is answered in person or a connection is made. • To call outside your local calling area dial 1 + Area Code + Phone Number.

WE GO THE EXTRA MILE IN LONG DISTANCE

Station-to-Station Direct Distance Dialed (DDD) calls are station-to-station calls. Call station-to-station if you’ll talk with anyone who answers. Rates are lower for station-to-station calls; charges begin when the call is answered. Person-to-Person Call person-to-person when you wish to reach a particular person or extension number. Dial the number and when the operator comes on the line, say you are making a person-to- person call and give the name of the person with whom you want to talk. The operator will leave the line when the person you’re calling has answered the telephone. Collect You may call collect if the person or firm you are calling agrees to pay the charges. Dial “0” then the number and when the operator comes on the line, say you’re placing a collect call and give your name. The operator will leave the line when the person you’ve called accepts the charges. Conference You can talk with several people in different places at the same time by dialing the operator and saying you wish to make a conference call. Give the operator the names and telephone numbers of the people with whom you want to talk. You may want to arrange a calling time in advance. Third-Number You may have long distance charges billed to an authorized third phone number. Dial the number and when the operator comes on the line, say you’d like to charge your call to a third number. Give the operator that number, including the area code. Mobile, Marine & Overseas Service You can make calls to automobiles, trucks, trains, aircraft and boats equipped for telephone service. Calls to these mobile phones can be direct dialed or made through an operator.
