If your floors have static electricity in them and you get a shock sometimes from touching other people or objects in the room, simply set a bowl of water someplace on the carpet in that room and it will break the static charge.

If candlewax gets on carpet, use a warm iron placed on double-thick paper towels and iron it off. The paper towels

will absorb the melted wax. Keep repeating until the wax is gone.
