Today, with the wonderful outdoor recreational opportunities of the Tahoe National Forest, pristine alpine lakes, rushing rivers and snow covered mountains, Foresthill attracts outdoor enthusiasts from around the world to experience its natural beauty.
Sugar Pine Reservoir A beautiful, forested mountain reservoir located just 17 scenic miles northeast of Foresthill. Sugar Pine Reservoir offers family campgrounds scattered around the lake as well as shaded picnic areas, hiking trails, sandy shorelines, superb fishing and a boat launch. Sugar Pine Reservoir also serves as the water supply for the Foresthill Divide. Typically open from May through October.
a “tiny” giant sequoia grove, and is the northern most grove. Beautiful walking trails take you through this grove containing six old growth giant sequoias, two of which are considered “giant” size. The largest From Mild to Wild! The Foresthill Divide serves as the Launch Pad for World Class White Water Rafting on the North, South and Middle Forks of the American River. Horseback Riding along the Western States Trail Saddle up your pony and take in the beautiful views of the Tahoe National Forest while traveling along this 100 mile trail that stretches from Squaw Valley through Foresthill and ends in Auburn. Robinson Flat Campgrounds Take the scenic drive all the way up Foresthill Rd. and you will end up at Robinson Flat. A small campground with fresh air, unbeatable views and lovely walking trails. Foresthill Bridge Reputed to be the 3rd highest bridge in the U.S. and standing the tallest in California, the Foresthill Bridge is 12 ft. in diameter. Whitewater Rafting
spans the North Fork canyon, some 730+ feet above the river. Tourists, locals and visitors alike stop to walk the span of the bridge and take in the priceless views. Veterans Memorial Park A beautiful park situated in the pines. Veterans Memorial Park offers facilities such as the Memorial Hall, children’s playground, swim center, tennis courts and ball field. A great place to spend the day.
Morning Star Lake Campground Located at an elevation of 4,050 feet and nestled in the Tahoe National Forest, Morning Star Lake Resort offers a little something for everyone. From camping to fishing, day use beach areas and paddle boat rentals. French Meadows Reservoir French Meadows Reservoir is located 36miles east of Foresthill onMosquito Ridge Rd. Located at an elevation of 5,000 feet, French Meadows Reservoir is a scenic lake offering activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking and so much more. In the French Meadows basin, camping is permitted only within developed areas. Placer Sequoia Big Trees Grove Located in the American River watershed of Tahoe National Forest, Big Trees Grove is known as
