Crime Stoppers is a non-profit, citizen-based pro gram that works in conjunction with law enforce ment to raise awareness of crimes and pro vide monetary incentives to witnesses to come forth with information to solve crimes. Brazoria County Crime Stoppers was chartered in 1992 as Angleton Area Crime Stoppers. The name was changed in 1999 to Brazoria County Crime Stoppers to reflect more involvement throughout southern Brazoria County. How is Crime Stoppers Funded?

Brazoria County Crime Stoppers is a Texas chartered, non-profit organization primarily funded by fees assessed by a judge for those people receiving probation. We also receive tax-deductible donations from the community and grant money from the Texas Institute for Criminal Justice. Crime Stoppers in Schools Brazoria County Crime Stoppers acts as an umbrella and supports, administratively and financially, programs in area schools.
