Lifeline Program Most of us take the telephone for granted. Often, we forget our good fortune that provides us with immediate access to our families, friends and communities, as well as hundreds of special services. Many Illinois telecommunications providers offer forms of assistance to qualifying individuals to help them install and maintain single-line telephone service. Lifeline Assistance Because Wabash Communications CO-OP is an eligible Telecommunications Carrier in Illinois, under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) Guidelines, we receive universal service funding. Under these guidelines, in addition to current Illinois state programs, we offer special Lifeline service assistance that provides eligible customers a monthly credit.

Eligibility Requirements To be eligible for participation in the Lifeline program, an individual must be eligible for and participate in one of a number of programs such as Medicaid, Food Stamps, Social Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Veterans Pension Household Income. To Apply To apply for the Lifeline program, qualified people should contact the business office.
